She/Her

Joyce received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and her Master of Social Work from New York University (NYU). Her advocacy and mental health experience include working with child, adult and LGBTQ survivors of human trafficking, sexual abuse and domestic violence. Prior to coming on board at UCLA, she developed and facilitated a holistic program under the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office for Commercially and Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) coming through the juvenile justice system in Oakland, CA. During her time in New York, she provided counseling, legal advocacy and supportive programming to domestic and immigrant sex trafficking survivors through the Queens and Brooklyn District Attorney Offices. For several years, she also volunteered with Nomi Network, a non-profit leveraging the fashion industry to end human trafficking and traveled to Cambodia and India to promote job training opportunities for at-risk communities.

She is enjoying her return to sunny Southern California. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, yoga and trying new food trends and desserts.
