Nichelle earned her bachelor's in human development and family studies with a minor in addiction treatment from the University of Nevada, Reno and holds a master’s in psychology from Mount Saint Mary’s University. Nichelle has worked throughout the advocacy field for over a decade. Throughout her professional career, Nichelle has worked on legislative bills that address health inequality and improve healthcare accessibility. Currently, Nichelle consults for a non-profit focused on supporting rural BIPOC communities through political power and she sits on the board of directors for the American Society of Acupuncturists. As a doctoral student, her research explores uniting stories, movement, and traditional medicines for marginalized trauma journeys in community settings.
Nichelle's passion lies in health equity, liberation practices, and community engagement, which she aims to bring to UCLA's CARE department.
