Pleasure can be described as a feeling of happy satisfaction or enjoyment. Pleasure can also be a measure of freedom. Led by CARE Advocate Rebecca, Reintegrating Pleasure After Trauma is a healing program focused on providing a safe space for survivors to reintroduce joy and pleasure in their everyday lives through peer-to-peer connections, discussions, and opportunities for creative expression.
Discovering Joy After Trauma: Reintegrating Pleasure Into Our Daily Lives
The workshops consist of one-hour weekly meetings over the span of 6 weeks. The program utilizes various strategies for cultivating joy, happiness, and pleasure including: reflection, art-based modalities, and affirmation skill building.
Weekly Themes:
- Who taught you to feel good? (Part 1)
- Who taught you to feel good (Part 2)
- Loving Ourselves as Pleasure
- Creativity & Joy
- Caring as Pleasure
- Reflection
Activities will include journaling, collaging, yoga, watercolors, and more.
Program Details:
Held in Covel Commons, this workshop will meet every Wednesday (1pm) for 1 hour for 6 weeks. Materials will be provided - but feel free to bring your own!
